The Necromaniac Chapter 1 "The Signal" Part 3

"The Signal" Part 3

I couldn't believe it. The signal was of a demonic origin. I had to get rid of this thing at all costs. But how? I went back to the kitchen to tell the rest of the group what i had discovered.

"There's no way. Just get the signal onto a disk drive so i can take it", replied General Blackstone.

"No, I'm serious! This signal cannot be sent out! Ever since you guys heard it, you've been acting weird. You're practically becoming possessed!", I insisted.

Just then, the signal rang out throughout the base. Then i started hearing gunfire outside the base. The signal stopped as I and the rest of the group rushed to the door. Then, the door opened. It was one of the soldiers. He had blood running down the side of his face.

"What happened, Cadet?", asked General Blackstone.

"The signal began to sound and the other two began shooting each other. They killed each other before they could start shooting me."

"See? This is why we need to destroy this signal", I added.

"So what if a few guys kill each other? A couple of dead guys is worth a couple hundred million dollars", replied Adam.

"You're talking crazy! I'm going to destroy this signal once and for all!"

I start walking over and then I hear the sound of a gun being cocked. I slowly turned around and saw it was General Blackstone holding his gun...pointing right towards me.

"Now, Mr. Lighttalon. All you have to do is put the signal on the disk drive and give it to me then we can all go. If you refuse, I will shoot you right where you stand."

I slowly began walking towards the computer. Blackstone followed me closely and watched as i brought up the file for the signal. I paused for a moment, quickly swooped around, swatted the gun out of Blackstone's hand, pulled out my scythe, and gutted him with it at blinding speed. Another advantage of being a wizard, you can move pretty fast.

"Sorry, General but this is for the good of all mankind." I turned around to notice Albert, Adam, and Catherine fighting over the control of the computer. The signal was recieved again but except this time it was much stronger. Adam reached out for his gun and stuck it to Catherine's head, ready to shoot. This was really getting out of hand. The place began to shake and rumble. I knew I couldn't stop it at this point. I got on my knees.

"Lord," i said, "Please send this thing back from where it came from. In Jesus's name, amen."

As soon as I had finished saying the prayer, sparks began to fly everywhere. The scanner went haywire and caught on fire. One of the computers fell over and exploded, causing another one to short circuit and explode. The signal finally stopped. It was destroyed. Praise God!

Hours later, Ambulances and the authorities arrived. The world was saved from chaos. I finally saw the FBI truck come and out of it came out my boss, Jonathan Landry.

"Excellent work, Agent Lighttalon,", Jonathan said as he came up to congratulate me, "Another case solved. For your hard work, not only do you get a day off to make up for having to work today, but you also get an additional week of vacation time."

"That's great! Thanks boss, I think i am gonna take my week off to head back to the spiral, just call me up if ya need anything."

"Will do!"

I called for Skelly to get ready to head out but then I noticed Catherine was running to me. "Anything wrong?", I asked.

Catherine noticed my Bible in my hand. "Could I borrow that?"

I smiled. "Here, you can keep mine."

"Thanks", she said. She walked off with her new Bible.

Ah, a happy ending. I get ready to open a portal to the spiral when all the sudden, I get a call. It's from Dworgyn. "Hey Dworgy, what's up?"

"Ah if it isn't my favorite student! A little bat told me you're a big deal in your world now", Dworgyn said.

"I am?"

"Yeah, look behind you."

I looked behind me and news choppers from all over were arriving to the scene. Several news reporters began rushing to me asking me all kinds of questions. "I'll call you back", I told my professor as I hanged up.

After the many interviews were over, I started heading back to the spiral. I called Dworgyn back. "Hey! I'm heading back to Wizard City now. Just outta curiosity, why did you call me?"

"Well I need you to head over to Nightside. I have an important mission for you."

Oh boy, here we go again.

The Necromaniac Chapter 1 "The Signal" Part 2

"The Signal" Part Two

I couldn't believe what I was seeing. It was weird how everyone's eyes seemed to flash while listening to it. But mine's didn't. There was something weird about this signal. I dismissed everyone into the base's kitchen while i looked for more possible information. All I know so far is that this signal seems to be coming from somewhere other than outer space. So if not outer space, then where? And what made everyone's eyes flash so strangely? Maybe I was seeing things? I decided to take a break and went into the kitchen to grab a snack. But on my way, I heard something outside. And not just any something, it was Skelly. He was roaring about something. I ran outside to see what was going on. Apparently a couple of people from the military had arrived. I saw a general and three soldiers make their way towards the base. I was curious as to why they were here.

"Greetings, General," I said as I went to meet him, "What brings you here?"

The general spoke with a steely voice, "We're here for the signal."

"Aren't we all?"

"Nobody's leaving the area until we get the signal."

"Why's that?"

"This is a matter of National Security. Obtaining the power of this signal could bring about World Peace."

Oh great, another power-hungry freak. And this time it's a peace-crazy Hippie. "Look, I don't know where everyone's getting all this 'power' stuff."

"If we can make contact with the Extraterrestrials, we can become the most powerful country in the world!"

"Aren't we already the most powerful country in the world?"

"Yes but this can help us secure that position permanently"

"Sigh, well, let's hurry up and get inside, the storm's are coming"

I looked over the general's shoulder's and i could see the dark storm clouds coming so i knew we were gonna be here for a while.

"By the way," i asked, "what's your name?"

"Just call me general Blackstone", replied the General.

I went ahead into the kitchen as the General and the troops went in behind me. While we were walking towards the kitchen, the General decided to take a quick listen to the signal for himself. He listened to the signal and sure enough, his eyes flashed a grey color as he listened. He then put down the headset and preceeded to the kitchen.

When i arrived at the kitchen, the scene i walked into was shocking. Adam, Catherine, and Albert were yelling at each other and looked as if they were trying to kill each other. I quickly casted a spell to blow back the three and keep them from ripping each other apart. The only wounds they had were some minor cuts but other than that, nothing serious.

I looked at each of them seriously. "What do i run, a nuthouse?! What were you guys doing?! You were practically going at each others throats!! YOU COULD'VE KILLED EACH OTHER!!!" I was seriously PO'ed, and you don't wanna see me when I'm mad.

Catherine said, "Well i was planning to broadcast the signal but apparently these two had other plans."

Albert cut in saying, "Well i promised my radio audience a big show! How am i gonna rack up Millions of listeners without the signal?!"

Adam then jumped into the debate, "Do you know how much money i could make with this? I'd make millions!!"

I could tell that each of them had their own selfish motives for broadcasting the signal. "Look, I'm not sure we should even showcase this thing. Ever since you guys listened to this signal, you guys have gone Whacko! I think it'd be best if we'd get some more info on this signal. First thing we need to do is find the technicians that got this thing first."

I got the whole group to gather around the table in the center of the kitchen as i laid out a map of the base. "Now, everywhere we've been looking we haven't been successful" I began marking various locations that we've looked for them with a sharpie. "It appears we've looked everywhere except a tunnel that runs under this place. It goes about 200 yards and it leads to an exit out the back of the building. We'll go into the tunnel and search for the technicians."

We looked around the building for the vent that led into the tunnel. When we found it, we opened it and there was some stairs that led into the long, dark tunnel.

We turned on our flashlights as we walked through the tunnel. An eerie chill was in the air. I also smelt a familiar smell, a smell only extremely recognizable to necromancers. I didn't exactly figure out what the smell was until Catherine screamed at the top of her lungs. We came to see what had frightened her. It was just as I'd feared. It was the bodies of the technicians..dead.

But how? Who or what could've done this terrible thing to the technicians? I went back up to the monitor room to look for details. Oh and i also discovered another thing about the signal. It was exactly 6.66 seconds long. Lovely. As i entered the room, i noticed a security camera at the top corner of the room. I then look for video files in the computer. I looked and noticed a video from last night. Perfect. I began to play the video and this is what it showed:

Technician 1: *tied up upside down in a small room* Dude don't do it! You know this signal shouldn't be sent out! This signal didn't come from outer space!! It came from Hell itself!!!!

Technician 2: *Types on the computer and goes into the small room with a knife*

Technician 1: Don't do it!! I should've known not to let you listen to the signal!!

Technician 2: *Stabs the first technician and walks out of room with a bloody knife. Looks up at the camera, grabs a hammer and smashes it*

This signal must be destroyed immediately. This isn't from outer space, this is from the bellows of Hell.

The Necromaniac Chapter 1 "The Signal" Part 1

"The Signal" Part One
 based on the movie "decieved"

Saving the Spiral comes with its benefits. Not only do you become well known in the spiral, but you also become a feared and powerful figure in the real world as well. In the spiral, I was a well-skilled Necromancer. In the real world, i am one of the highest ranked FBI agents. But of course I don't let my position get in the way of my own personal walk of faith.

I was in my office one day catching up on the scriptures. I had been recently reading up on the Proverbs. Reading one Proverb a day really helped me and i enjoyed getting into the Word. Today was supposed to be a day off for me, so i wasn't expecting anything to happen so i thought today, I'd relax. Little that i realized that today was not going to be an ordinary day. I hear a knock at the door.
"Come in", i said as i wondered who could possibly be at the door.

The door opened, it was General H.G. Hardwing from the Pentagon. What could he be possibly be doing here?

"Sorry to disturb you on your day off, Agent Lighttalon. A file was sent to you from the Communications center", the General said as he entered my office.

As a high-ranked FBI agent, i can get into some very secretive government files. I opened the file. It was a transcript from SOEI, the Secret Organization in search of Extraterrestrial Intelligence. I read the transcript. It appears that the SOEI picked up a strange frequency last night that could possibly have come from space. Apparently they wanted me to go to one of the bases in Colorado to investigate and possibly telecast the signal. "Wait a minute, i'm getting an investigation assignment? Today's supposed to be an off day for me", I said after reading the transcript.

"Sorry, but this is an extremely important case. You know how top secret Extraterrestrial cases are? They're so top secret and high-priority, they are more top-secret than the files for the nuclear bomb back during WWII while it was still being made."

"Hmm. I have always been curious about the existence of aliens, even though the government's done a pretty good job in convincing most people that they don't exist thanks to many hollywood movies. I guess I'll go but I hope the FBI will give me an extra day off to make up for having to give up this day to go after a case."

"I'm pretty sure they will."

"Thanks, General."

"Oh and also," the General began to say before he left, "you won't be going into the investigation alone. You'll be tagging along with some other folks."

"Like who?"

"Not sure, but I suppose you'll find out when you get there"

"Alright then"

So I left my office and headed out on my usual ride, my Skeletal Dragon whom i often like to call, Skelly. He's like a friend/pet/guard. He's gone on a few cases with me, like when we had to go to Afghanistan to investigate some possible terrorist attack suspects. One of the suspects pulled out an AK-47 and started firing like crazy. That's when Skelly stepped in, grabbed the suspect, and well... let's just say it didn't end pretty. But the suspect Skelly took out turned out to be one of the terrorists so Skelly ended up getting the Medal of Bravery. And the government also sent him a year's worth supply of rotting flesh, which just happens to be his favorite snack.

Anyways, I arrived at the location. The area was sort of an uneven plain near some mountain ranges. This place was notorious for nasty storms which cause some problems with communication from time to time. And as the general had mentioned, I wasn't there alone. I looked around and the first thing i saw was a news helicopter for the News Channel, MMN. I saw the reporter along with a cameraman near her. She was practicing for her report on the recent signal picked up here. The reporter's name was Catherine Hoffman. There was also a man who, from the way he dressed, was pretty wealthy. He appeared to be the one who owned the SOEI base in this area. His name was Adam Schnitzler. Standing near him was a guy who looked like he was from the Geek Squad. His name was Daniel Webster. And the fat guy who was standing near Daniel was a Reverend named Albert Winston.

I was wondering why these guys were even coming with me to the investigation. As we gathered together, I could tell they were looking at me funny. "What?", i said as i was wondering why i was getting looked at peculiarly.

"Aren't you a little young to be an FBI agent?", Catherine asked as she kept looking at me like was some kid pretending to play dress up.

"No, I may only be 15 but I'm one of the best in the business."

"Oh, and why is that?"

"Because I'm not an ordinary human being. I am a wizard."

They all bursted out laughing like Hyenas at my statement.

"A Wizard?!", Adam said as he was still laughing, "There are no such things! They're just in fairytales. Now run home, kid."

"Oh so you think I'm just kidding? Well then, prepare to eat your words."

I grabbed my staff out of my coat and began casting a spell as i waved my staff around. Gravestones began popping all around us as a began to summon a Wraith, which began rising out of the dark, low-lying mist that appeared between us. They looked as if they'd seen a ghost, and hid behind a rock as they began to scream like little girls.

I found this pretty amusing. I finally called back the Wraith and stated proudly, "NOW do you believe me? I meant what I said and what we're here for is serious business so let's get down to it."

After the rest of the group got out from behind their cowering spot, we gathered again.

"Now why is it that you guys are here anyway?"

Catherine spoke, "Well we've all been sent here to investigate the weird signal that was recieved in this area the other night. We're going to go into the base and investigate the signal. Adam will help Daniel locate the file for the signal. Daniel will then take the signal and put it into a CD drive so that we can then take it and broadcast on both MMN and Albert's famous radio station. This news will be spread out to the entire world!"

Albert, seeming pretty excited, then exclaimed, "This is a very big deal!! There is a higher power out there that, if we get a hold of this signal, we can obtain! We can then take this power, obtain a higher level of conciousness, and become like gods!! Then we'll become as powerful as the Lord himself!"

Of course, seeing several errors in his statement, couldn't let this fly. "Ok reverend lemme stop you right there. For one, nobody can get to God's point of divinity, that is for Him and Him alone. He is sovereign over everything in creation and i mean EVERYTHING!"

Catherine then cut in saying, "Oh are you one of those religious freaks? I don't care what you and your little Bible have to say cause-"

Then that's when things broke out into an argument between the three of us. Finally, Adam stepped in and said, "Ok, ok, ok!! Cut it out! Let's just focus on why we're here! Let's hurry up and get to the base."

"Well where is the base then? I don't see it anywhere", Catherine asked as she looked at her surroundings.

"It's over there", I said, pointing through a bunch of woods which led to a hill where the base was, etched into the side of a cliff. "Let's hurry, there are storms supposed to be here soon."

"So we're just going to walk the whole way there?"

"Well you guys can go ahead and walk but I'll meet you guys up there."

I then summoned Skelly, hopped on him, and then rode on Skelly as he proceeded to fly towards the base. Of course, seeing this, the others weren't so happy cause they weren't expecting me to summon a ride so they started chasing after me. It was quite funny to see the looks on their angry faces as they ran frantically. I reached the entrance to the base and sat near skelly as we waited for the others to arrive. They were taking so long I fell asleep. I don't know if i was asleep for 10 minutes or an hour, but when i got up, I saw the other members of the group slowly making their way to the base. They were extremely exhausted from running to they were walking.

When they finally came up to me, i said, "Where've you guys been? It feels like I've been waiting here for 20 years. I could've graduated from College by now if I wanted to"

Catherine, looking pretty worn out and pretty mad, said, "Well we couldn't summon a ride like you could so we had to walk the whole way!!"

"Well now that you're done complaining, let's go ahead and go into the base."

We walked in to a scene that nobody was expecting. The place's lights were cut off and the place looked like it'd been robbed except everything was there except it was messed up. A bunch of the electrical appliances wouldn't turn on so we had to have Daniel work on the systems for a few minutes till the lights came back on. Meanwhile, I looked around. It appeared the the two guys that were here last night were gone. They were there when they had recieved the signal but it appeared they had gone missing. This was not a good sign. I didn't know if they had been kidnapped or murdered so i began looking around. Daniel was getting the monitors booted up so i came back in to check on his progress. The rest of the group went to go look around the base. When the monitor finished booting up, the screen displayed a login screen requiring a 4-digit password to login to the system. Daniel and I thought for a minute to try to think of the password. And apparently the password was exactly the first thing that came into our heads, SOEI. Then it showed the desktop with some different files on it. We looked through the files and couldn't find the signal.

"You sure you checked everywhere?", i asked Daniel

"Yes, but it doesn't seem to be on here"

Then the unexpected happened. One of the scanners nearby started beeping and the computer began to show a pop up window displaying some advanced controls. The signal came back in. We began trying to try to track the signal. I hopped onto another computer to try to help out. Finally, we located the signal.

"Here it is!" Daniel said as he located it. "Ready to hear it?"

"Yeah you go ahead and listen in first."

"Ok." Daniel picked up the headset plugged into the computer and clicked on the play button. I didn't hear anything but i could see the wavy lines appearing on the screen. I looked at Daniel and his face had gone blank. Then for a split second, his eyes flased a grey color and then went back to normal.

"What happened?", i asked.

He took off the headset and handed it to me. I had a bad feeling about this. I put on the headset and pressed play. It was nothing like I had heard before. I can't really describe it other than saying some weird noises started playing at a high frequency. I started to feel weird and quickly preceded to take off the headset. I knew something was up. Could this signal really have come from outer space? I checked the report history on the computer for any reports sent in after the signal was recieved. The communications system was designed to set coordinates from where the signal came once it recieved it. I looked for some coordinates. There were none. Whatever this thing was, it didn't come from outer space.

I had everyone else come in to hear it. Their eyes flashed for a split second as they listened to it. I knew something was up.

New Pet Arrives to the Spiral! The Evil Sandman!

You may have noticed in the crowns shop this morning that there is a new pet on the block, the Evil Sandman. The Evil Sandman, or as my new nickname for him, Frosty the Dirtbag, is basically a balance version of the Evil Snowman. I'd buy it, but i dont have enough crowns to buy it and i'm pretty sure a page for it is already being started on Petnome as you read this post. I really wanna contribute but i cant buy the pet!! >.< I hate when that happens!! Sigh oh well, perhaps i can help with other pets. Until next time, see ya!

A special announcement from Skelly

Hello. This post is no ordinary post, because it's not being written by Timothy Lighttalon. Rather, it's being written by his pet Skeletal Dragon/BoneDrake, Skelly. Now you may ask, what is Skelly doing writing a blog post? Well, I'll tell you right now. I am writing this post, er should i say clawing this post, for a reason similar to Diana Wildheart's post about her deafness. Like how Diana was telling you what it was like to be deaf, I will tell you about what it's like to be lacking another sense. Now you'll probably be thinking, "Well you're a bone drake, what sense could you possibly be missing?". Well in case you didn't notice, my body is entirely composed of BONES meaning i have no skin whatsover. Still haven't figured it out? What's inside of skin?.... ok if you seriously haven't figured it out my now I'll just tell you, Skin has NERVES meaning i cant sense TOUCH. So I am unable to sense what i am touching, that includes the inability to feel physical pain, which is actually an advantage to not having skin. There are also disadvantages. Think about what else comes with skin like muscles. Now, i can move just fine like a normal creature would but i have no muscles on my face. Therefore, i am unable to make facial expressions except for 2: 1) Normal. 2) Angry. So yes, there are disadvantages to not having skin either. Well, at least i won't have to worry about getting face acne but then again, i don't know if magical creatures even get face acne. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed reading this and i may be making another post or two in the near future. Farewell, until next time.
